He had the biggest smile in the world. You would never guess that minutes earlier his throws skipped five feet short of his throwing partner. This player's skill and mood improved after I applied my analytical background to a different medium. The 13-year-old wasn’t reaching back far enough before the throw, also known as “short-arming it.” This robbed him of the extra ‘umph’ the ball needed to reach his target. A little tinkering with that, and the baseball found the mitt throw after throw. “How’s that feel?” I asked. “Better.” He could hardly fit the words through a grin he tried to hide. And that’s why I volunteer to coach. It’s motivating, it’s rewarding, and boy, it’s challenging. I mean, I coached an 11-year-old who raised his hand with excitement and enthusiasm to sit the

Did you know that someone is diagnosed with diabetes every 17 seconds? 25.8 million Americans—that’s over 8% of the U.S. population— suffers from diabetes and another 79 million are at high risk for developing the disease! Diabetes Awareness Month in November is dedicated to raising awareness for these eye-opening facts. To show our support, Socks4life created a diabetes resource guide to provide useful information for visitors and introduce them to additional resources, including the diabetic online community. Socks4life will also be donating 10% of proceeds on November 14th to the American Diabetes Association in honor of World Diabetes Day. On World Diabetes Day and every Friday during the month of November, the International Diabetes Foundation and diabetic online community asks that we wear blue to spread awareness. Whether you personally have diabetes, know someone who has diabetes, or want to show support of raising awareness for this disease, it’s as

One Click Ventures is proud to be a corporate sponsor of the 20th Annual Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes benefitting the American Diabetes Association. Thousands of people gathered downtown for the two-mile Walk on Sunday to show their support for a cure.  Many walked to honor a friend or family member with diabetes, while others walked in memory of a loved one who sadly lost his or her battle to the disease. At the Walk’s conclusion, supporters gathered at Celebration Plaza in the White River State Park where there was live music, games, and food. It was a truly beautiful fall day—not a cloud in the sky!—as Hoosiers danced, mingled, and supported the ADA’s efforts. Walkers also had an opportunity to learn more about the disease and how they can continue to make a difference.

One Click Raises ALS Awareness

On September 24th, One Click Ventures participated in the Central Indiana Walk to Defeat ALS® benefitting the ALS Association Indiana Chapter. The two-mile walk took place on a blustery fall day at the White River State Park in downtown Indianapolis. The event was the first of three walks held annually around Indiana to help fundraise, spread awareness, and support those adversely affected by the disease. Family members and furry friends joined One Click in making the event a memorable experience full of team bonding and walking in honor of patients and their families. To stand out from the crowd and make a statement about their fight against ALS, each OCV walker sported a team t-shirt and a pair of mirrored aviator sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse. “The event itself was well planned and executed, which lent greatly to the enthusiastic spirit of the participants.  I had no idea what the turn-out would be,
